Buy and Hold vs. Moving Average ETF Investing 3-12-10

Another good week for the markets. S&P was down on only Friday. Overall up 11.6 points. Like last week, our two investor portfolios are at all time highs.

The buy and hold ETF investor moved higher about $206 in the balanced ETF portfolio. His total portfolio balance is now at $15,572 and the total gain is 55% since we starting tracking this portfolio in March of 2009 (54 weeks ago).

The moving average ETF investor gained about $138 for the week. His portfolio is now valued at $11,232 (same balanced portfolio). He has gained 12.7% for the same 54 week period.

It would not surprise us to see a pull back in the near future.

Moving average update:

The 50 day moving average is still above the 200 day moving average for all 10 ETFs from the diversified ETF Portfolio. As a result, no changes are made to the moving average ETF portfolio.
