Buy and Hold vs. Moving Average ETF Investing 2-19-10

Clean sweep in the S&P 500 this week. This index closed higher each day this week! Overall the S&P 500 was up 30 points in only 4 trading days. This is the second week in a row the market has moved higher.

Our two ETF investors saw nice jumps in their respective portfolios. The buy and hold ETF investor saw an increase of about $389 in the balanced ETF portfolio. His total portfolio balance is currently $14,843 and the total gain is 47.8% since we starting tracking this portfolio in March of 2009 (51 weeks ago).

The moving average ETF investor gained about $261 for the week. His portfolio is now valued at $10,831 (same balanced portfolio). He has gained 7.8% for the same 51 week period.
