Another week and another new high for our ETF investors. The S&P 500 moved higher each day this past week, gaining 120 points for the week. I guess traders/investors were in the holiday spirit of buying.
The buy and hold ETF investor gained over $200 for the week in the balanced ETF portfolio. His total portfolio is at an all time high of $15,126 for a gain of 50.6% since we starting tracking this portfolio 43 weeks ago.
The moving average ETF investor is also at an all time high and gained $133 for the week. He has $11,016 invested in the same balanced portfolio. He has gained 9.7% thus far for the same 43 weeks.
As a reminder, the buy and hold investor went long in all 10 ETFs from the balanced ETF portfolio in March, 2009. The moving average investor waited for the 50 day moving average to rise above the 200 day moving average before going long so it took him a lot longer to be invested in all 10 ETFs.
