ETF Investing Strategies: Buy and Hold vs. Moving Average Week Ending 10-30-09

Tough week in the market for sure. The S&P 500 dropped 44 points for the week, about 30 of those points were lost on Friday alone.

Not surprisingly, our investors had a rough week as well. The buy and hold investor lost $600 bringing his portfolio down to $14,109 for an overall gain of 40.5% since going long in the balanced ETF portfolio back in March.

The moving averge ETF investor experienced a loss of $400 for the week. Total portfolio value is $10,333.66 for an overall gain of 2.9% since March. The past 12 weeks for each investor are shown above.
