ETF Investing Strategies: Buy and Hold vs. Moving Average Week 30

It has been 30 weeks since we started comparing a buy and hold ETF investing strategy to a moving average investing strategy. This past week, the S&P 500 went down about 23 points. Not unexpected as the S&P 500 has been moving up steadily since March of this year and there is going to be a correction now and then.

The buy and hold investor saw his balanced ETF portfolio decrease about $370 to a total value of $14,409.22. His total gain is 43.5% in thirty weeks.

The moving average investor saw his portfolio (his portfolio is currently the same as the buy and hold investor) decrease about $250 to $10,532.15 for a total gain of 4.9%.
