ETF Investing Strategies: Buy and Hold vs. Moving Average Week 21

Week 21 of the Buy and Hold vs. Actively Managed ETF Investing is over. You most likely saw that the market again moved sharply higher this past week. Once again the big benefactor is the Buy and Hold investor (Investor A) who holds all 10 ETFs from the balanced ETF portfolio.

Investor A saw his portfolio increase over $550 in just one week to a total value of $13,231.82. Investor A's total return for the past 21 weeks is an astounding 31.7%.

Investor B actively manages his ETF protfolio using a 50 day/200 day moving average cross over strategy. He currently holds only 3 of the 10 ETFs from the balanced ETF portfolio. His portfolio went up about $30 for a total value of $10,106.20 (.6%).

The graphical representation for the most recent 12 weeks is below.
