ETF Trading Strategies: Buy and Hold vs. Moving Average Week 11

Week 11 is over comparing a Buy and Hold ETF investment portfolio vs. a moving average ETF investing strategy. Investor A (Buy and Hold) had his first loss in 10 weeks and it was a pretty good drop, about 6% wiping out last week's gains. Investor A's total portfolio value is now $11,930.48 for a gain of 18.8%.

Investor B (50 day moving average/200 day moving average ETF investing) is only holding one of the 10 ETFs from the balanced portfolio. His total portfolio has a small gain to $10,030.25. His performance is holding at -.1%. He is waiting for the 50 day moving average to cross above the 200 day moving average on the other 9 ETFs before buying.

The graphical representation by week is below. Feel free to sign up for the free ETF Newsletter and I’ll send you weekly updates of the progress between Investors A and B.
